Robot and Automation manufacturing industry registers a 4.3% growth
At his group’s annual meeting this year, Alberto Tacchella, president of the association UCIMU-SISTEMI PER PRODURRE, reported that production of the Italian machine tool, robot and automation manufacturing industry registered a 4.3% growth versus 2004, reaching 4,309 million euros. An excellent performance was recorded by exports, which increased 14% to 2,368 million euros. The export-production ratio increased from 50.3% of 2004 to 55%. The leading foreign markets were Germany (11.6% of the total), France (9%), United States (8.4%), Spain (8%) and China (7.9%). In each sector, the increase included: Germany (+5.3%), France (+16%), United States (+6.6%), and China (+8.5%). Among emerging countries, the highest increases in the sales of Italian production systems were recorded in: Turkey (+75%), Mexico (+83.8%), Poland (+20.1%), Brazil (+43.2%), India (+166.3%) and South Korea (+209.2%).
According to the forecasts, in 2006, the production of the sector should continue its positive trend, rising to 4,520 million euros, +4.9% compared with 2005; once again fueled by the positive trend of exports, expected to increase by 8.3%, which should amount to 2,565 million euros.
